Amara Romani

Born on March 25, 1993, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Amara’s life was a journey of ups and downs. She bravely faced significant challenges with mental health and substance abuse, a struggle that resonates with many families, including her own. Her father, a coroner in Pennsylvania, poignantly highlighted the widespread impact of these issues in our society, underscoring that no family is immune to the challenges of mental health and addiction.

Update April 2024: Her toxicology tests came back, and they confirmed what others thought: she died in the hospital from an accidental overdose, specifically from “Methamphetamine & Heroin Toxicity.”  So that is the official cause of death of Amara Romani.

The Fire That Dared the Dark: An Epic for Amara Romani

I. The Dawn Child
From Sewickley’s quiet hills she came,
a daughter of dawn and tempest flame—
Amara, whose name meant “eternal,”
whose laughter cut through morning’s veil.
Born beneath March skies that thawed the earth,
her eyes held the restless pulse of spring,
and even then, some whispered fate
had marked her heart for deeper things.

II. The Journey of Shadows
She walked the long road—stone and thorn—
where joy and pain were tightly sworn.
Through glass and grief, through city haze,
she sought the sun in broken days.
Addiction’s hand, a serpent’s chain,
twined round her pulse and whispered blame,
yet still she rose, again, again—
defiant child of fragile flame.

III. The Battle Within
O daughter of sorrow, child of fight,
you wrestled angels in the night.
In veins of silver, ghosts did dance,
and mercy watched from its distance.
But even as her strength would wane,
her courage was a steadfast flame—
a cry against the cruel abyss,
a plea for grace, for one more kiss.

IV. The Passing
December’s cold bore heavy news;
the dawn was pale, the silence bruised.
She left the world as dreams depart—
too soon, too soft, too full of heart.
Her father’s tears fell like a prayer
for all the lost, the brave, the fair.
And though her breath was stilled by fate,
her soul refused to dissipate.

V. The Eternal Flame
Now stars recall her by her name,
the fire that dared defy the shame.
Her son shall see her in the sun,
and know her fight was never done.
For every soul who bears the mark
of pain and hope within the dark—
Amara’s story softly pleads:
Be kind, for love is what we bleed.

VI. Requiem and Rising
Go gently, fierce one, through the veil—
where sorrow ends, and hearts prevail.
The heavens open, quiet, wide,
to cradle all you were inside.
And if the gods of mercy stand,
they’ll take you gently by the hand,
and say: your battle’s done, sweet flame—
rest now, the world remembers your name.
